Definition of a transistor: transistor is a combination of two PN junctions.transistor is a semiconductor active component in electronics.it is three terminals,collector base and emitter.it is used in electrical circuits for amplifieing week signals,to convert in strong signals.it is used for switching, voltage regulations,etc.there are two type of transistors in electronics,PNP transistor and NPN transistor.



Types of a transistor: there are two types of in transistors in electronics.
1. PNP transistor.

2. NPN transistor.

Uses of the transistor: basically two reasons to flow the current in transistor,holes(+) and electrons (-).Transistor is a current operating device.there are many uses of a transistor.
1. signal amplification(high to low and low to high)
2. amplifier circuits
3. as a switch
4. matching impedance
5.in oscillator circuits.
all over electronics circuits used to transistor mostly.



Structure of the transistor: transistor is made in two PN junctions.the making of a transistor basically the silicon and germenium semiconductor materials are used. so the silicon transistor and the germanium transistor is the classification of the transistor,from this the two types of transistors.
1.PNP transistor: two common cathodes with combined,called PNP transistor.
2.NPN transistor: two common anodes with combined,called NPN transistor.

Checking of a transistor: basically transistor check in a multimeters ohm range.
1. PNP transistor

When PNP transisitor checks in multimeter, the multimeters negative terminal are catch in common,and other two probes are checking.transistors emitter terminal shows the high resistance in multimeter.and collector terminal shows the low resistance.Negative tenminal on base and checking, it is PNP transistor.
2. NPN transistor


when the NPN transistor check in multimeter, the multimeters positive terminal are catch in common.and other two probes are checking. emitter shows the high resistance in multimeter, and the collector terminal shows low resistance. positive terminal on base and checking, it is NPN transistor.
