Difference between ETHERNET, ARCNET and CONTROL NET.

ETHERNET :
1. The size of this network is larger than TAN and smaller than MAN.
2. The speed of this network is high.
3. Because of this network data is transmitted from one computer to another.
4. Co-axle cable or optical lines are used in this network.
5. Special IC chip based controllers are used to connect the cable.
6. Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE defines ETHERNET as IEEE Standerd 802. 3).

ARCNET :
1. The size of this network is larger than TAN and smaller than MAN.
2. The speed of this network is high.
3. The next three cables are used in this network.
A) RG 62 Co - axial (93 ohms)
B) CAT or UTP (only one pair)
C) Optical fiber.
4. The logical structure of the arcnet is similar to that of a bus.  The token runs from Station to Station until it reaches the last station.  But a physical arcnet is a bus or a star or a mix of them. 5. The next five devices are used for ARCNET.
A) Active
B) Active link
C) Passive hub
D) Bus (NIC)
E) Star (NIC)
CONTROL NET:
1. This network is a multiple control.
2. The speed of this network is high.
3. This network transmits data from one computer to another.
4. Co-axle cable or optical lines are used in this network.
