What is a IC.Definition,function,advantages,structure in simple words.

IC:  That is, an integrated circuit. the active and passive components of the entire electronic circuit are integrated into a silicon chip. This chip has called IC. J.  K  Kilby built the first IC in 1979.


Advantages of IC:
1. It is very small size. Answer
2. Weight is very low.
3. Price is low.
4. The efficiency is very high.
5.  It is convenient for small signal function
6.  Reduces power consumption
7.  Easy to change.

Drawbacks of IC:
1. Now ICs even if one of the parts in the malfunction is damaged, it causes the entire income IC has to change.
2. Cannot create a condenser of value greater than 30pico farad above the patient conductor chip in IC.
3. Can not create inductor, transformer parts in a IC.
4. More than [10watt of high power] IC Can't create.
5.  No more hits or misdirection.

Classification of ICs by structure: Classify IC into three types according to structure.
1. Monolithic IC:  In this type of circuit, all circuit components (both active and passive) are placed on a piece of silicon crystalline material called a wafer.  Are added to it.
2. Thick & Thin Film IC: The difference between Thick and Thin Film IC is not in the context of thickness but on the method of film deposition. These types of ICs attach to the surface of insulating materials, such as glass or ceramic.
     Therefore, in this type only passive components (resistor, capacitor) are formed.  Active elements (transistors, diodes) attach externally to monolithic mode.
3. Hybrid IC:  Hybrid, as the name implies, combines different chips of IC from film and monolithic.

Classification of ICs by function: Classify IC into two types according to function:
1. Linear IC:  Linear IC is known as analog IC.  The output of this IC is proportional to the input, so this IC is called as Linear IC.  These ICs are widely used in domestic as well as military and industrial equipment.
     Linear IC is an operational amplifier, small signal amplifier power amplifier, RF and IF amplifier, microwave amplifier multipliers, voltage compressor and voltage regulator.  They are widely used for work.
2. Digital IC: Digital IC is widely used in the computer industry.  This IC has taken over 80% market share of IC.  Digital IC includes logic gate, flip flop, counter, clock chips, calculator chips, memory chips and microprocessors circuits etc.
